WMPP and EAGER TO B.
One of
the reasons for forming this Eager to B. group is to meet,
network, learn, ...Most
people accuse one another of the fact that one does not have
time...So I figured, why not meet at least once a month in a
beautiful ambience surrounded by greenery at Shanti Van.
As a
Chairperson of Women’s Movement for Peace and Prosperity (WMPP)
and as an individual, I met a lot of wonderful intelligent
ladies who I wanted to continue to connect with…So along with
these enthusiastic ‘Eager to Bes’ we continue the task to
empower women…
I was
supported in my thought by our core group Amla Ruia, Vimla
Patil and Maya Shahani…Then we started to call the Eager Ones we
knew…The rest is History unfolding….
Alone I can
Say,
Together we can Shout.
Alone I can Smile
Together we can Laugh.
Alone I can Live
Together We can Celebrate.
It’s the Magic of Friends
And
Magic of Success

A Spiritual explanation of Ganesh Chaturthi led by Shakun
Kimatrai
Ms Deepa Kodikal, author and an Enlightened lady in the
literal sense of the word, told us about how she was made to
become fearless of 'ghost apparitions' as she was explained that
ghosts have less power than humans...they may be able to bang
doors and light candles...but they are actually waiting to move
on...and prayers do help them to...
Marie Curie said: "Nothing in life is to be feared. It is
only to be understood".
8th October 2008
Aarti Hundalani told us about what made her re-think about her
life, from a Spiritual perspective.
During the devastating floods in Bombay, her two daughters,
despite being in the car with their mobiles, could not be
reached...It was then that she felt helpless and realized that
there are times when despite ones best efforts, one has to just
'surrender'
Needless to say the girls reached home safe and sound.
Vimla Patil enlightened us on Indian Festivals...Some have a
Scientific reason, some an economic one, some are connected to
the Harvest season...
Festivals depend upon:
1) Dates: The Birth of Lord Rama, Krishna…
2) Geo-physical: The wind, Sun moves in a certain
way…equinoxes…
3 Mahanayaks:
Sri Ram
Sri Krishna
Arjuna, because he receives the Geeta…
Naag Panchami comes exactly 1 month before Ganesh Chaturthi…
The snake is the messenger bringing you the good tidings that
Ganeshji arrives after a month!
12th of November
Sandhya Sinha spoke about the hesitation of women to join
politics…but we must start about becoming aware and empowered by
knowledge as to how the machinery works and becomes corrupt.
10th Dec 08
Shakun Narain spoke about 'Trauma' what it entails and how to
help in dealing with it
Vimla Patil enlightened us on what other
organizations are doing to help the city continue the good work
of avoiding another act of terrorism...

Vimla Patil and myself

Deepa Kodikal, an Enlightened lady in the true sense of the
word and author of 'Journey within the Soul' spoke to us
about how to be in a meditative space all the time.

sincere, a clear thinker, a good speaker...the Proffessional's

group of patriotic, ethical, committed professionals- experienced &
successful in their own fields, who were fed up & upset of
complaining -just sitting at home in the armchair...
Celebrating 1st Birthday of Eager to B.
We celebrated one
wonderful year of togetherness, by having dinner at Spoons, Inox.
We enjoyed a dance performance by the charming danseuse Nandhini
Ashok and her troupe to celebrate the
International Dance Day at the Nehru Centre.
Shakun Narain Kimatrai
Dear WMPP and Eager to B. Friends,
As the hot and sunny month of
May 09 proceeds, Eager to B.
completes one whole year of 'getting to know' one another and
each one’s strengths and contribution to the common pool of
knowledge and skills. We have all had a wonderful time adding to
our pool of wisdom and experience through this hugely profitable
network – while we have also enjoyed the pleasures of music,
food and just happy conversations.
Now the time has
come to take the Eager to B Group to a higher and more mature
level.
Just to remind
you, we celebrated one wonderful year of togetherness, by having
dinner at Spoons, Inox. We enjoyed a dance performance by the
charming danseuse Nandhini Ashok and her troupe to celebrate the
International Dance Day at the
Nehru Centre.
On the 17th
of January 2009, we were offered an opportunity to enjoy ‘Cosmic
Embrace’ a highly Spiritual and educative experience. I also
invited all of you to a talk organized by the Moral
Rearmament organization at Worli
on ‘Domestic Violence’.
Now, let me let
you in on a secret.
One of the reasons
why I was inspired to start Eager to B. with the co-operation of
Ms Amla Ruia, Maya Shahani and Vimla Patil (in alphabetical
order) was to expand the activities of Women’s Movement for
Peace and Prosperity, (WMPP)

Our idea has been to interact
with empowered women’s organizations and individual women who
are eager to empower themselves further to make the world a more
peaceful and prosperous place.
Now let me come
to the main point:
Judging
from the success of Eager to B in the past year, I think the
time has come for us all to connect with other organizations and
increase our footprint and thereby our potential for effectivity.
We are planning to join hands with WMPP (Women’s Movement for
Peace and Prosperity – an initiative of the Times Foundation and
SAGE, a powerful trust from the Shahani family with a grand
record of social work.
Click:
www.TheSageFoundation.com
We shall continue to meet.
Maybe NOT at ‘Shanti Van’ everytime…but we
shall continue to invite you for various activities…you may also
do the same…and if you need to discuss a project in which some
of us are able to contribute we shall be available for you.
One more thing:
Whosoever contributes to an activity, the
Group they belong to and their name will get due credit…
If you click and scroll down:
http://www.dalsabzi.com/women_movement/wmpp_activities.htm
you will notice that Ms Sunita
Godbole belonging to WMPP gets credit for her contribution to
Sage. All 3 names get a mention…
You may become a member of Eager to B. by contributing Rs 300
towards membership.
Those who have contributed need not do so again for the time
being...
Our next meeting will be:
Venue: Ms Maya Shahani Residence.
Ashoka Apts, 13th floor, Rungta
Lane, Off Napean Sea Rd.
Date: May, 13th 2009,
Time: 5-6.30pm
You may bring as guests those desirous of
joining…
During this meeting we shall connect with
SAGE interact, learn, discuss and enjoy
Happy to be a Woman and come to know all of
you,
Aanaa mere desh laado!

Dear Shakunji,
I feel very blessed to be associated with you and you are
like a guardian angel for me.
How do i send you the contribution. Can I have your postal
address.
About me briefly:
I head and consult for the Children and Women at High Risk
Department of a NGO called Holistic CHild Development India.Pune.
Our German agency is KINDER NOT HILFE.
I have aPHD in psychology and I do research and write poems
and my poems have been published twice over in Sahitya Kala
Akademi, New Delhi. I conduct training in transpersonal
psychology.
My work in the present organization is providing advice and
monitor the psychosocial care of children and women at high
risk. My work takes me often to remote parts of India and
Andamna islands where i began work with 12 areas of Tsunami
Andaman in which I started community building and children's
parliament. In Mumbai I work for women in prostitution, children
of such women, and children in rag picking and street kids. In
Delhi I work for HIV affected children and street kids and
working children.
I initiated an anti trafficking project in Karnataka and
Bhiwandi Mumbai with the Good Shepherd sisters. The two tier
project prevents trafficking of women and children through a
community based approach( rural development) in Karnataka's
villages. My next project will look at a group of rural
communities in Bihar.
Hope this helps.

GOOD PEOPLE (.COM) SANSKAARAS
Have you ever thought about the reason why the underworld is so well connected?
It is because they have a common agenda. One of them being: Greed! It could be greed for anything, most of the time ‘Power!’
The time has come to get good people together. Maybe through a website entitled:
Goodpeople.com? Would it work?
Mr. Ram Maheshwary of Times of India believes that it will! Those who believe they are good people are entitled to join. And I believe that people are basically good. So we can be assured of a lot of people
deserving to be a part of it! I believe that one is a 'good person' if one makes
an effort to contribute to the welfare of the planet, for the joy of being of
service, and for no other motive.
One could start with internet connections, but eventually touch people.
Ms Indu Jain, the Chairperson of the Times of India group, says: Let us not be peace talkers, let us be Peace Makers!
While
you are proclaiming peace with your lips, be careful to have it even more
fully in your heart.
~
St. Francis of Assisi
I met Ms Borwankar, a petite woman who is the Joint
Commissioner of Crime, Bombay branch.
I asked her how she deals with ‘hard criminals’ a
serene woman like her? She said ‘To be tough you do not have to be a man or
imitate a man’ A woman can be powerful the way she is.
The Scripures proclaim that a woman is Durga Saraswati,
Kali, Laxmi, a mother a wife a sister a friend....
Women need to be empowered and educated by various methodologies. Women
not only influence the family they are born in, but also the family they marry
into.
I presume you have heard the saying: “The woman who rocks the cradle rules the world’
Then where have the monsters been created?
I read that there is no such thing as ‘monsters’ it is ‘the force of darkness’ that works through them. And all one needs to do, is shut the door in its face!
The problem also lies in our ‘Samskaras’
What is ‘Samskaras?’ Values! Tendencies!
Whatever one does or hears creates an impression in the unconscious mind.
The samskaras of actions and desires control our emotions.
It is the samkaras that make a person basically ‘good’ or ‘bad’
It is the samskara that comes up now and then making the person happy, sad, violent, serene…
The mind functions through our senses. It is what we see, hear, smell touch and taste that goes on to form our
samskaras.
These samskaras rule our life. They need to be purified.
Easier said than done!
But Krishna claims that with effort and perseverance, it is possible.
We need to save the planet that we live in.
Are we going to try?
To purify our samskaras and listen and follow ‘good people?’

Reader comments
I usually
visit your site to search further information on topics from my Spiritual Yoga
classes, and can always count on getting a satisfying explanation or thought.
That is why I never had the need to contact you...until now. Do you know of a
method to reprogram or neutralize your Samskara (Sankara), or a Mantra
therefore? I would like to try a Yoga method if there is one. I thank you
for your site and for sharing your wisdom.
My
Reply:
To neutralize samskaaras?
Only True
Gyaan (knowledge) can
It needs
a long explanation
It is
like the world is an illusion (magic)
once you
know the trick of a magic
The magic
has no meaning
Once you
know the world is maya (illusion)
The gyaan
neutralizes the samskaaras
Phew that
was making a difficult thing easy...
Mantra?
Aham
Brahmaasmi
(I am
God) or 'I am That' or 'Aum or Sohum
Much
love,
Shakun
